Finding Time to Write

It feels like forever since I last wrote a post.  Sometimes it's almost as hard to find time to write as it is to decide what to write about.  I'm glad that I had a few moments this morning to update the blog at least and to contemplate what I really want to write about.  My life is about being a mother.  Most importantly about enjoying being a mother no matter how hard it may seem at times.  I have three wonderful kids!  I find more joy in spending time with them than I could ever have imagined to be possible.
Karlie is almost five and loves to be in charge.  This has probably been the most challenging thing for me to deal with.  Finding balance in letting her be dependant and me still being in charge often proves difficult.
Derek is always on the move and has a need to see everything and how it works.  He loves construction vehicles, anything with a siren, helicopters and airplanes, and well pretty much anything that moves.  I have learned more about these things than I really ever cared to know in our nearly daily discussions about them.
Brayden is such a delight.  Always happy and smiling, he brings great joy and delight to our family.  He is growing up quickly and amazes me at how quickly his little brain seems to learn everything.
My husband of nearly six years is still in school.  It feels like he will never be done, but I hope that will all be over five semesters from now.  He is still the love of my life and has been since we met almost 19 years ago.  He is so good to me!  Even despite his busy schedule with work and school he still takes time to leave me love notes, even if it's just a couple of sentences and an I love you scribbled on a sticky note.  He always makes me happy.
I have discovered a love for cooking since getting married.  I love to learn how to make new things.   My latest experiment has been with making yogurt.  It has been a lot of fun.  People think I'm crazy for making things I could buy, but I love it and I'm saving money so I'll just keep on doing it if you think I'm crazy or not.  I make pretty much everything from scratch and love it.  I hope someday to be able to finish my degree in Health Promotion.  I discovered a love for that as I have worked toward my own goal to be more healthy and in helping my family to do so as well.  In the meantime, I will enjoy every second I have with my kids while they are young.  After all, every thing has it's time and place.  For now I hope to at least find a little more time for writing my thoughts down.  I think it is important, and this is at least a place to start.
