A Bad Day Inevitably Waiting to Happen
When I woke up this morning to all three of my children screaming something told me this was going to be a long day. By the time I had all three of them ready to go to Karlie's Parent/Teacher meeting I was ready to go back to bed. It got worse the second we walked out the door, as soon as we went out I saw my front tire nearly flat. We only had barely enough time to get to the school on time and now I had to go out of my way to the gas station to fill up the tire. While driving down the street to the gas station on the corner, which of course is the exact opposite direction of the school I was praying that it was just a slow leak and that once I put air in the tire we'd be able to make it to the school and back safely. Thankfully we did, and thankfully Karlie's teacher was running behind and wasn't even ready for us when we got there. Howard was barely able to get off soon enough to get the van in to get the tire fixed. There was no way I was going to get a flat tire fixed with three kids. Derek whose way into cars and tires thinks that the display tires are to climb on, and trying to keep him off and take care of a baby and keep Karlie out of trouble too just sounded like more fun than I could handle. When Howard go to the tire store minutes before they closed it went from bad to worse. I was right there definitely was a leak in the front tire, but there was also a staple in the side wall of the rear one on the same side, and of course it was leaking too, and because it was in the side wall it couldn't be fixed and so we had to replace it. All four tires were brand new when we bought the van back in April, and they were able to replace it with the same one and gave us a warranty on all four of them in case anything like this should happen again. I'm grateful for Discount and their wonderful customer service. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if both problems were from all the construction that is on every road around us. I can't go anywhere without driving through construction. I'll be glad when it's all done soon, and it's too cold for them to start anymore. I'm glad we were able to get the problem fixed before I had to drive Karlie to school tomorrow. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to change a flat tire on the side of Bangerter Highway with three kids.
